Science and Engineering Scholarships
Queen Mary is internationally renowned for its strengths in teaching and research in science and engineering. We constantly seek students of the highest quality, and, in recognition of the important investment that international students are making in their education, we are pleased to offer a range of scholarships to reward outstanding academic achievement.
Eligible students will be awarded a scholarship of £2,000 for each year of study.

Eligibility criteria for Science and Engineering Scholarships
Students from the following countries and regions are eligible for these scholarships, if your country is not listed here please confirm whether eligible with the relevant departmental contacts. (Please see department information below for exceptions) :

  • Bangladesh
  • Brazil
  • China, Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR
  • India
  • Iran
  • Kenya
  • Malaysia
  • Nigeria
  • Pakistan
  • Palestinian Territories
  • Russia
  • Sri Lanka
  • South Korea
  • Thailand
  • Vietnam (this applies only to entrants from 2005 onwards)
You must be nationals of the applicable countries listed above AND be classified as an international student for fees purposes.
Please note:
  • There is no need to make a separate scholarship application. All eligible candidates will be considered on the basis of the information provided in their application form. You will be informed whether you have been awarded a scholarship when we make you an offer.
  • Early application will increase the probability of you being awarded a scholarship.
  • Candidates must not be in receipt of any other University scholarship or a full fees scholarship from any other source (For Example: The Chevening Scheme).
  • The scholarship awards will be deducted from tuition fees payable to the University.
  • Please note that in most cases the University only awards partial scholarships and competition for these awards is intense. Students must be able to finance the remainder of their tuition fees and living expenses.
  • Scholarship awards are made subject to satisfactory performance on your chosen course.
  • Most of the above awards apply only to entrants from 2004 onwards, except where indicated.
